As part of the 2010 ASLA Texas Regional Conference and Expo, the ASLA Texas Chapter
Executive Committee and the Sustainable Sites Initiative wanted to include a NEW
opportunity to highlight landscape architects and their leadership in the “green”,
sustainable movement. Therefore, this year we are asking our members to submit their
ideas for a sustainable exhibit to be set up in the exhibit hall for all to see and learn
about. In fact, our new PR effort for the profession will help the Texas Chapter get public
exposure for these ideas at the conference & expo.
How can I participate?
It is easy. Just submit the attached questionnaire to the

2009 Conference
The Texas Chapter and the host Austin Section would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s conference. In today’s economic climate it was great to see the large number of professionals that took the time, many their own, to come to Austin and participate in two days of educational sessions and the Thursday evening awards banquet. The conference theme was “Landscapes on the Edge”. Many topics discussed how we can be and are at the forefront of the current sustainability movement. As Landscape Architects and members of ASLA we are charged with the responsibility to promote the profession, develop sustainable solutions, and showcase how we have been practicing as stewards of the land in this arena for the past hundred years. Only with the great support of all the speakers, vendors, sponsors, and ASLA member volunteers can we make this conference happen. Check back soon for a recap of the conference and the 2009 award winning projects with photos and descriptions as well as details of the 2010 annual conference, hosted by the South Texas Section to be held in the great city of San Antonio. See you next year!
